posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the anime version of Tetsuro Kasahara's Rideback motorcycle robot manga has begun streaming its second television commercial. Rideback tells the story of a college student and her "iron horse" robot motorcycle in 2020, a tumultuous time of anti-government student protests. The advertisement features a song by the singer MELL (Black Lagoon, Hayate the Combat Butler, Shakugan no Shana).
Atsushi Takahashi (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi episode director, Paranoia Agent unit director, Spirited Away assistant director) is overseeing the animators at Madhouse on this television anime project. Hideo Takayashiki (Akagi, Maison Ikkoku, One Outs) is in charge of the scripts. The original manga ran in Shogakukan's Ikki magazine from 2003 to 2008, and the 12-episode anime version will premiere in Japan on January 11.
