Sony's Animax Expands to Spain

24-hour-per-day anime channel adds new country
Sony Pictures Television International has signed an agreement with Spain's Imagenio IPTV (internet protocol television) service to offer the Animax anime channel in that country. Available at launch will be several recent series such as NANA, Peach Girl and Le Chevalier D'Eon; movies like Kai Doh Maru and Appleseed; and classics Lupin the Third and Detective Conan. In addition to Imageneo, SPTI is also negotiating to place the channel with several other Spanish stations. Animax currently airs in 49 million homes across 41 different nations.
