Sydney Japanese Film Fest to Screen Stormy Night, Coo

The 11th Japanese Film Festival, which is organized by the Sydney, Australia office of The Japan Foundation, will screen the children's anime features Stormy Night and Summer Days with Coo, as well as the live-action adaptation of Chiko Umino's manga Honey and Clover. In addition, the festival will screen Mamoru Oshii's Tachigui: The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters and the live-action adaptations of The Sword of Alexander novel by Baku Yumemakura (Onmyoji) and Kyoichi Katayama's Crying Out Love in the Center of the World (Socrates in Love) novel.
These films will be shown in Japanese, with English subtitles, and the Tachigui screening will include the exclusive previews of its sequel, Eat and Run: 6 Beautiful Grifters and of The Sky Crawlers, the anime film on which Oshii is currently working. The Japanese Film Festival will be held at the Greater Union George Street cinema in downtown Sydney from November 29 to December 8.
