Detective Conan Statues Damaged by Unknown Assailant
posted on by Egan Loo
The Sports Nippon newspaper reports that the citizens of Japan's Hokuei discovered on the morning of May 10 that two of the town's bronze statues of Detective Conan had been damaged. The magnifying glass on one and the snorkel of another had been bent. The town in Tottori Prefecture had erected the 60-centimeter (two-feet) tall statues on both ends of its Conan Bridge in honor of its most famous son, Conan manga author Gōshō Aoyama. There were seven unsolved cases of damage on the Conan statues in 2005. The town opened the nearby Gōshō Aoyama Manga Factory museum on March 8.
