Takehito Koyasu's Son Is Now a Voice Actor Too

posted on by Kim Morrissy

On the 8th episode of the game-themed web radio show "Game Center Waraji", which first debuted on September 24, young voice actor Kōki Koyasu appeared as a guest, where he revealed that he is veteran voice actor Takehito Koyasu's son.

Kōki Koyasu revealed on the show that he debuted as a voice actor in March. According to the Japanese voice actor database Mau, Koyasu has played a middle school student and a Kuramoto Chuo High senior athlete in Cinderella Nine. He also played a Chaldea employee in the currently ongoing Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia TV anime.

Koyasu said that he loves video games, and that when he's not working he's generally playing video games. He also mentioned that he plays games with his family.

Twitter users have noted the physical resemblance between Kōki and his father. A number of comments express their wish to see the father-and-son combo perform together in an anime one day.

Takehito Koyasu, who is currently 52 years old, is perhaps best known for voicing Dio Brando in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Admiral Aokiji in One Piece. He also voiced Mu La Flaga in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Shinsuke Takasugi in Gintama, the Beast Titan in Attack on Titan, and Excalibur in Soul Eater. In 2009, he created the Velvet Under World drama CD and multimedia series.
