Fans Pick Their Favorite Dragon Ball Movie of All Time

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Toei announced fans' favorite Dragon Ball film according to a poll the studio held on the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film's official website. Fans were able to choose from 19 different films in the franchise in order to crown one as the best.

Surprisingly, the top choice wasn't the latest film or even one starring a popular villain like Frieza. Instead, viewers picked Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, the movie that introduced Gogeta to the anime's canon. In the film, Goku and Vegeta must fuse in order to become powerful enough to defeat the demon Janemba. The fusion character appears again for the first time in 23 years in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

The more current Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods took second place thanks in part to the popularity of Beerus and Whis followed by the Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan film in third place.

Fan-Favorite Dragon Ball Films

  1. Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn
  2. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
  3. Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan
  4. Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'
  5. Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler

Shueisha, the publisher of the Dragon Ball manga, has held two polls in conjunction with the new anime film's release. Readers picked the top 10 moments from the Dragon Ball manga last month with the ending of the Buu Saga being the top choice. Shueisha held another poll asking which of Goku's brawls from the manga series had the biggest impact on Dragon Ball fans.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly opened in theaters in Japan on December 14 and will open in theaters in North America on on January 16.
