The Wii Isn't Dead—THQ Nordic Announces New Game 5 Years After Console Ends Production
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
There aren't many months left before Nintendo shuts down its Wii Shop Channel for the Nintendo Wii console. The service is heading to the bin on January 31, 2019. The move follows Nintendo ending production of its Wii consoles in 2013.
So why then, is the console still getting new game releases? Just because the Nintendo Wii is two generations back, doesn't mean there aren't players still enjoying it. THQ Nordic is still the Wii game business. The company announced it will release Let's Sing 2019 for the console along with the more modern PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The Wii U is not getting a version.
Let's Sing 2019 will be the latest entry in Deep Silver's karaoke game franchise.
THQ Nordic made the announcement at this year's Gamescom event where it also announced releases of Desperados III, Monster Jam, Biomutant, Aquanox Deep Descent, Saints Row the Third, and Car Mechanic Simulator.
