posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Namco Bandai Games began streaming a promotional video for the action role-playing game adaptation of Hiroshi Fukuda's Mushibugyō manga and anime adaptation for Nintendo 3DS on Monday. The video introduces the five of the game's playable characters: Jinbee Tsukishima, Hibachi, Shungiku Koikawa, Tenma Ichinotani, and Mugai. Players will be able to fight giant bugs using ninja techniques and swords.
A physical regular edition and a downloadable version of the game will be available for 5,980 yen (about US$63) on September 19.
Hiroshi Fukuda's original Mushibugyō action manga is set in Edo-era Tokyo in the early 1700s. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune creates a new magistrate unit — Mushibugyō — to protect the people in the heart of the city. Each member is a specialist with unique fighting skills.
The anime adaptation of Fukuda's manga began broadcasting in Japan in April. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.
