posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Namco Bandai Games revealed on Wednesday that it will release an action role-playing game adaptation of Hiroshi Fukuda's Mushibugyō manga and anime adaptation for Nintendo 3DS. Not only can players fight giant bugs as the main character Tsukishima Jinbee, but also as the other Mushibugyō members using swords and ninja techniques.
A physical regular edition and a downloadable version of the game will be available for 5,980 yen (about US$63) on September 19. An early demo of the game will be available to play at Jisedai World Hobby Fair '13 in Chiba on June 29 and 30. A new promotional video for the game will also premiere at the event.
Hiroshi Fukuda's original Mushibugyō action manga is set in Edo-era Tokyo in the early 1700s. The eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune creates a new magistrate unit — Mushibugyō — to protect the people in the heart of the city. Each member is a specialist with unique fighting skills.
The anime adaptation of Fukuda's manga began broadcasting in Japan in April. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.
