FripSide Performs A Certain Scientific Railgun S's 2nd Opening

posted on by Egan Loo
Duo's 7th single "eternal reality" to ship on August 21 with opening anime on DVD

The staff of A Certain Scientific Railgun S television anime series confirmed on Monday that the musical duo fripSide is contributing a second opening theme song. The unit's seventh single, "eternal reality," will go on sale on August 21 in three different editions (two limited first editions and one regular edition).

The limited first edition with anime will include an anime DVD with the clean opening animation sequence, one of the two videos on the making of the song's music video, a special spot commercial, and footage of the "sister's noise" performance at the March 22 concert at Tokyo's Shibuya O-East. The limited first edition without the anime DVD will instead bundle a DVD with the live-action music video of fripSide themselves, the second making-of video, and the "sister's noise" concert performance.

The duo already performed the first theme song, "sister's noise," for A Certain Scientific Railgun S, and that single topped Oricon's weekly sales chart with 27,000 copies sold in its first week. Funimation is streaming the series in North America as it airs.

The unit fripSide consists of voice actress Yoshino Nanjō who handles the vocals and producer/composer/programmer Satoshi Yaginuma. The unit performed the two opening themes for the first A Certain Scientific Railgun series, as well as the opening theme for the original video anime.
