Sailor Moon Stars in Action Figure Video With Voice Actress Mitsuishi
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Sailor Moon (as voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi) stars in a new promotional video for Bandai's S.H. Figuarts line's upcoming action figure. The company will add the title magical girl from Naoko Takeuchi's manga to its lineup this August to mark the franchise's 20th anniversary.
In the ad, Sailor Moon notes it's been a while since we last saw her. She adds that the figure can recreate many familiar, fondly remembered poses from the anime. The 4,410-yen (about US$44) set will come with the figure itself, three interchangeable parts for different facial expressions, three interchangeable left hands, five interchangeable right hands, her cat Luna, two Moon Sticks, and parts for recreating the Moon Tiara Action effect.
The video adds that the first release of the figure will come with two extra facial expressions as bonuses: a winking face, and a crying face.
Pre-orders for the figure will begin on May 8. Bluefin, Bandai's official distributor in North America, confirmed that the figure will retail for US$42.99 in the United States this August or September.
A new anime adaptation of the manga was announced last year. However, the manga's Kodansha editor Fumi Osano (“Osabu”) confirmed that the anime had been delayed.
