Evangelion: 3.0 Director Anno Draws 'EVA:08 Alpha'

Evangelion director Hideaki Anno drew an Evangelion: 3.0 sketch of "EVA:08 Alpha" on his bonbori paper lamp for the annual Bonbori Matsuri (Paper Lamp Festival) at Kamakura, Japan on Thursday. Anno traditionally contributes a lantern every summer to this festival, which is running this year from Monday to Thursday at the Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū shrine.
The Evangelion director's wife, manga creator Moyoco Anno (Flowers and Bees, Happy Mania, Sugar Sugar Rune, Sakuran), also contributed a lamp (pictured below) to the festival once again. Last year, Hideaki Anno drew an Evangelion: 3.0 sketch of "EVA:02' Beta," and Moyocco Anno drew another lamp.
As Hideaki Anno's lamp advertises, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q) will open on November 17 as the third part in Khara's four-film revamp of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series.
