Poster features girlfriend e-mailing her boyfriend while he is on a disaster relief mission
The Tokushima Base of Japan's Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) has revealed its anime-styled poster for this year's recruiting drive. This year's poster was designed by JSDF personnel. The story of the poster revolves around a girl who sees a news report on TV featuring her boyfriend, who is a member of the JSDF's ground forces, while he is on a disaster relief operation. She sends her boyfriend an e-mail telling him that he looked three times cooler than he normally does when she saw him on the news program in his uniform. She adds at the end of the e-mail that she loves him. Her boyfriend replies saying that he wants to express to her the same words of thanks and gratitude that he himself has been receiving from those whom he has been helping.
The Tokushima Base has been using anime recruitment posters since 2010. Its 2010 poster was designed and drawn by the anime studio ufotable. It's 2011 poster featuring female JSDF members from the ground, air, and sea forces in their summer uniforms was designed by a JSDF personnel member from Hokkaido.
