Satoshi Kon Exhibition Video Streamed
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website of the late director Satoshi Kon posted a 13-minute video on Wednesday from last month's "Millennium Souvenir" retrospective exhibition dedicated to Kon's works. The website previously posted a slide show from the same exhibition last week.
In the video's accompanying blog post, Madhouse producer Fuminori Hara noted that he hoped the video would convey the atmosphere of the exhibition to those who were unable to attend.
This video, as with the slide show, is accompanied by music from Susumu Hirasawa's "Paranoia Agent Outtake Collection." Hirasawa provided the music for Kon's Millennium Actress and Paprika films and the Paranoia Agent television anime series. The video shows art and pictures of Kon that were featured at the exhibition.
The exhibition was held from August 12 through August 24 at the Shinjuku Ophthalmologist Gallery in Tokyo. August 24 marked the one-year anniversary of Kon's passing.
Last month, the French website Catsuka along with the French convention Japan Expo posted an online version of their exhibition containing 40 images from French artists paying tribute to Kon.
