posted on by Joseph First
The charity group We Heart Japan will host a "We Heart Performing for Japan" event in October. The event is the third installment in We Heart Japan's efforts to raise funds for disaster relief in Japan.
Singer and voice actress Mari Iijima, known for playing the role of Lynn Minmay in both the Japanese and English dub versions of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross science-fiction anime series, will sing at the event. In addition, the English cast of an unannounced classic anime series will reunite to perform a live reading of an episode.
Other guests at the event include voice actors Beau Billingslea (Bleach, Naruto) and Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Gurren Lagann), and voice actresses Melissa Fahn (Digimon, FLCL, Blue Dragon) and Wendee Lee (Bleach, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Magic Knight Rayearth).
We Heart Preforming for Japan will be held on October 1 at the Theatre of Arts Arena Stage in Hollywood, California, and will run from 6:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. Tickets are US$40 for general admission and US$60 for premium admission. The premium tickets will include reserved seating as well as a gift bag. Tickets can be purchased at We Heart Japan's website. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the "Japan NGO Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund."
