In the above image, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Rena Ryuugu, a character from the Higurashi visual novel series and its anime adaptations, starting with When They Cry - Higurashi. In the series, Rena is a sweet and kind young woman who adores cute things. However, she hides a dark family secret and quite possibly a curse as well.
The photo was taken at the Pique Nique Cosplay event, which took place in Hyères, France on August 20.
