posted on by Alex Mateo

Square Enix announced on Tuesday that its Dragon Quest X game will launch for browsers in Japan in 2020. The game will be playable on browsers that support HTML5, such as Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla FireFox, on PC, smartphones, and tablets.

Dragon Quest X players can apply to participate in a beta test, which will run from December 2 to 20.

Square Enix released Dragon Quest X for the Wii and Wii U consoles in March 2013, and for PC in September 2013. Nintendo has also since released Android and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game. Square Enix released the game's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions in 2017.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete), the latest installment in the series, launched for both PS4 and PC via Steam in North America and Europe on September 4. The game shipped in Japan for PS4 and Nintendo 3DS in July 2017. Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition, the Switch version of the Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age (Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete) game, launched on September 27.
