When it comes to debating Eren's genocidal plan I tend to break it down into two separate questions: 1) Is his plan strategically correct? and 2) Is it morally right?

Given all the information available about the nature of the Titans I cannot imagine a future where humanity would not seek to eradicate all Eldians once they ceased to be of any strategic value in warfare. To the general populace an Eldian is a ticking time bomb that could transform into a mindless people-eating monster at any moment. Whilst there would no doubt be inviduals and groups sympathetic to Eldians all it would take is one random Eldian going on a cannibalistic rampage through a city to erode public support.

Regardless of the morality of his plan if Eren's intention is to protect the denizens of Paradis for the foreseeable future then I think it is strategically sound.

I don't think Eren's an idiot that believes that wiping out the rest of the world will create some kind of utopia. I think he knows that there will still be conflict on the island between various factions. However his plan is the only way he can think of to protect as many people on Paradis as possible.

I agree with andramus. While Eren's actions are wrong, it's probably not the wrong choice given his options. I disagree with the notion that Eren is on some childish power trip. Eren was toiling with his decision for years before he made it. From Eren's pov he saw three choices: all Eldians die, only eldians live, or let another 2,000 years of persecution and war persist until every last drop of eldian blood is spilt. Eren wasn't childish. Eren was realistic. The same realism is shown on Tanya the Evil when she spoiler[ordered the massacre of the enemy refugees. ]

When it comes to war, there is no "right" decision and sometimes kindness can be the ultimate form of cruelty.
