Started reading this on the SJ app recently, and definitely liked it more than I originally assumed I would.

I feel I should mention to anyone interested that this series does transition into more of a battle manga as it goes on though.

There's still humor to be had (Mash remains just as simplistically good-natured as ever, and must still pull off absurd feats of athleticism to get around his opponents magic), but it becomes less of a primary focus.

I read the first few chapters but just couldn't get into the comedy. It felt too much like One Punch Man which is a series that never quite worked out for me in terms of comedy. The series seems pretty popular in Japan, though, so I wonder if it improves.

It does, it a good mix of comedy and action. The only downside to it is the side characters are not as good

I love this series. Started reading it on a lark and fell in love with it. I read it at night and I was afraid the neighbors were going to complain about my guffaws. The latest arc is intense and could spell doom for Mashle. I hope it gets an anime at some point.

It's not my type of comedy too, but at least I think OPM offers more depths in the characters, their relationships, and the notion of heroism too. Mashle revolves around friendship and it's a lot like One Piece on that front, which has been doing it for years. It also feels a lot like other titles in many places.

The only way I can appreciate this manga without being bothered much by its lack of originality is by seeing that it borrows tropes from other titles and brings them all together whenever it fits as not only parody of sorts, but also criticism to the shortage of novelty/identity in shounen manga nowadays. Anyway, I followed the manga until the latest chapter, and it's pretty entertaining so long as you don't think too much about it.

Regardless of story, it's one of those series that just needs to have a lot of sakuga if it ever gets animated.

Just reminded me of One Punch Man and the concept of Black Clover of not using magic. I found it pretty boring.

Its Harry Potter with a muscle bound muggle as the protagonist. Have been reading this series on VIZ since it first came out and had a fun time with it so far. The stuff that happens at the end of chapter 5 going into 6 had me rolling on the floor. Going to buy it now that it is out, its silly but it is a very enjoyable read.

People just say its just a crappy One-Punch Man and Black Clover mixed together with Harry Potter, but I disagree with this because I love the gags, the art is minimilistic and clean and I really enjoy that aspect about it. I think this is a great series and I have been reading it from chapter 1. I will definitly continue reading this and buy the volume whenever I can.
