OMG if they use the original theme song I am gonna LOSE MY DAMN MIND. I hope they keep the original score for the movie as well.

Well I know we can forget a subtitled version like Lionsgate's release of Yu-Gi-Oh!: Darkside of the Dimensions though they'd probably just botch it like Lionsgate and dubtitle it on the DVD/Blu-ray.

I haven't seen Pokemon since...when did Ash change his wardrobe again? Anyway, I've been aware that the English voice actors have changed over the years, so I'm sorta afraid to hear what the recent voices sound like. Still remember Veronica Taylor's rendition.
Still, after some time I got over Code Geass' English dub; now I prefer the original Japanese language. Maybe it's finally time to give Pokemon another chance? Shit, most of them are on Netflix anyway.

I've watched the trailer on Facebook...I found it quite underwhelming, thanks to The Pokémon Company's use of their in-house music in place of the original. As a result, I really wouldn't expect them to retain the original soundtracks in the film...

That was a mistake they're rectifying in the US.

Cool to see that they're having the tie-up with the Sun and Moon games like they did in Japan. Except in Japan you just had to open the game inside the theater and go through some on-screen prompts. No bothering with a QR code.
While the current voice of Ash has voiced him longer than Veronica Taylor, considering this is a story about when Ash and Pikachu first met, I think the nostalgia cord is hit most strongly with those who watched when Veronica was voicing Ash. Doubt it would ever happen, but it would be cool if they had a dual dub track on the home release where one had Veronica as the voice of Ash instead.

If we're delving into pedantry, then the Japanese DVD releases of the first three films were dual audio (Japanese/English) with English subtitles. (The subs were dubtitles though, so don't think you can officially watch an accurately subbed version of Mewtwo Strikes Back.)
I really hope the film's score stays intact, especially considering all the classic themes from the early years that are brought back. Not that I'm expecting it to, as they've been replacing the film scores for the past few years now, right? Kinda sad that they're actually doing a worse job than 4Kids at this point, after all 4Kids stopped replacing the film scores after Spell of the Unown.
I guess I might watch the dub of this as a curiosity and then buy the Blu-Ray of the Japanese version when it comes out, because I really enjoyed the original version of this film.

I think there is some sort of ridiculous ego/rivalry thing going on, because Sony has been producing the music for the Pokemon anime and films the last few years and it was right when Sony took over that The Pokemon Company got hardcore about replacing the score for everything.
