I was wondering how registration went for everybody else. I arrived at about 6pm and didn't have to wait at all. Maybe I should always come later from now on... Also, I noticed there's still 3 "TBA" in the official programming guide I got...

This year I'm only going to commute. I'll at least be there for Friday and Sunday, and definetly Friday evening for the ANN panel. It would be interesting to meet some of the other forum members this year. I was able to meet LydiaDianne last year, as well as staff members.

I'm a complete noob as far as conventions go, but the registration process went well (except finding the registration area was a bit of a puzzle).

This year was a tad disappointing so far. The staff underestimated the attendance for Hayter's panel, and kicked anyone out who so much as left for the bathroom. And the vendors sold mostly used stuff, and very little recent or new merchandise. I also found it ridiculous that DH's booth didn't have the newest OMG which just came out a few days ago, while the AAAanime booth did.

My first day of attendance was yesterday, which was day 2. So far I have found the accomodations and the layout of how AX is this year fairly satisfactory compared to what we all had to go through for last year's AX. In fact, walking through the LA convention center reminds of when I went to Anaheim two years ago. I like it so far, but we've still got two more days to go.

fighter: I will admit having water fountains around and a subway nearby are what's convenient for me.

I went to the ANN panel yesterday. I was sitting behind Cloe near the front (I'm not sure she knew I was there). I only said hi to Bamboo but that's only because she said hi to me first (or maybe the only one to notice me, I tend to make my presence low)... Too shy to say anything to anyone else... I was wearing the Rizel shirt if anyone noticed me (the only place I seem to feel comfortable wearing anime T-shirts is AX, I never wear them in public). I'll probably be going tomorrow if only to see Cy-rim Rev. perform one more time. Other than that, I still had a great time despite the state of the industry. I usually have a good time at AX though...

Given the doubts that some people had as early as last year, would those correspondents like to respond to their earlier comments?

Got to meet quite a few people for this year's ANN panel. I said hi to Chris, Zac and Bamboo, which I met last year, and then I got to meet Egan, Carlo, Justin, Robin, and Cloe for this year. This is probably very irrelevant but I was the one who asked about Crunchyroll.

Would be glad to. This year, I was a much happier con-goer. I was very disappointed to the extent of pissed off with last year's AX, and at the time I was really hoping they would bring it back to Anaheim so we wouldn't have to deal with what we had at Long Beach. The first thing I thought of for LA was the streets and problems that could arise for attendees this year. I will admit that for what I thought about AX being in LA last year, this year I take back what I said, and leave the comment that I am fully satisfied with the improvements AX worked on for coming to LA. I would not mind seeing it back in LA next year.

Thanks, I'll be interested to hear if that was the case for the vast majority of attendees.

I just remembered the one complaint I have about Anime Expo 2008. It is in referrence to AX Idol when Vic Mignogna told the girl who won the free trip to Japan that she was also getting a tour of Akiharaba. You sir, disgust me! How he could not have gotten the pronunciation right I will not know Rolling Eyes

I'm interested in hearing some more feedback from those whom attended this year's AX. Gripes, praise, and observations are all welcome. I'm considering attending AX for the first time next year, but I'm still on the fence.
