Anyone who hasn't gotten this yet needs to get on it now. Scariest survival horror hame in he last 5 years easy, and it's barely a game to begin with.

According to you but some others may think that some other survival horror games are scarier.

So what did Koijima do (aside from leaving MGS for good; or is that a consequence of this as well and not a cause?) to make Konami this butthurt?

I'm perfectly fine with this to be honest. Given the last few Silent Hill games, the series really should have ended after 4. It was really sad to see one of the most prolific horror game series aping the Walking Dead popularity. I disagree with other gamers that a franchise should go on forever. I'm fine with a series only have a few entries in it.

My feeling is that Kojami wanted to do other stuff after MGSV while Konami wanted hum and Kojipro to go straight on making the next Metal Gear game. Things gotta to a head because Kojima really didn't want to jump straight into another MGS, and that lead to Konami saying "Here's the door".

I might agree with you if PT wasn't as good as it was. Silent Hill games have certainly been divisive these past few years, no argument here, but it sounds like you're just writing off PT as just another bad SH game. That's just not the case, it absolutely nails the horror aesthetic and atmosphere. More so than any horror game I've played since Silent Hill 3.

PT was an amazing breath of fresh air, it will be a damn shame if we don't see something more come of it. Silent Hill games have been mediocre at best lately, Resident Evil is downright laughable (RE6 yuck), and Dead Space was turned into a muscle man action franchise (thanks EA), so I think we really needed PT and hopefully there is more to come.

This would make sense if MGS wasn't Konami's ip and wouldn't require Konami to use Kojima to make any new entries or remakes.

P.T. was my game of the year of 2014 and i stayed up all night to finish it.
Bayonetta 2 > The Evil Within > Dark Souls 2 are just behind it in terms of quality but i love the stunt Kojima is pulling here. He and his studio are becoming a true phantom limb Cool.
The press will be pretty angry when all returns to normal jut after the launch of MGS V.
Look it up here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp85EZ0bso0
RE6 is a good game btw. (with a horrible story). No it is! Revelations 1/2 are also good.

Ture, they don't require Kojima to make an MGS. However, would they really risk themselves to make an MGS without Kojima being involved? Even with Revengeance, Kojima at least pitched the first few ideas... but a Kojima-free MGS is probably not going to be well received.

I really hope this game gets made, if it does I'm gonna end up getting a PS4 just for that reason. Unless maybe it's available for PC through steam or something. But- even then! Hopefully the PS4 will also be a bit cheaper by then too XP

Looking at where that information came from, I wouldn't believe it - just look at the other twitter posts where that information came from. Looks like bad journalism to me.

EDIT: Looks like it was confirmed by Norman Reedus though:

The problem is that unlike most game franchises, it's going to be more difficult as time goes on to enjoy the good games in the series. The Silent Hill HD collection made so many changes for the worse that I would argue it's even more disrespectful to the original material than even all the changes that were made to the Star Wars OT, and PSN can't help as the only versions of SH 2 and 3 on there are the HD versions. So you can only enjoy a solid version of 2 and 3 as long as you have a working gen-6 machine and a copy of the games for that system. That's not so hard right now, but 10+ years down the road? Err, not so much.

One would hope a company would listen to the fans' complaints about all this and give us a proper HD collection, but considering this is Konami we're talking about I'm doubtful the situation will improve. Silent Hills was at least a chance that we would have a more recent entry in the series that was good and could be enjoyed for years to come, but of course that hope had to be squashed. After the let-downs of Homecoming, the HD Collection, Downpour, and the second movie, Silent Hill feels like one of the worse fandoms to be a part of right now. Happy times this is not. Sad
