As far as I know, they just publish an English language anthology magazine, though I suspect they will publish some books when some of the serialized stories have enough material for them. |

Wow, someone finally realized there was such a thing as fanboys?

You mean English Speaking Yuri fanboys (and girls). Everybody knows there are fanboys (and girls) for various things. But up until now, no one seemed to recognize us or think there where enough of us for it be worth brining yuri titles over here. |

Does anyone have an idea of when to expect some of these new titles? The release date for the first Strawberry Panic! novel is in April of '07 and Kasimasi is coming out this December, so what are reasonable guesses for the rest? Also, is there a chance Seven Seas might branch out into licensing anime? |

Honestly, if we had to make the choice, I'd prefer this. At least this makes us look somewhat enlightnend |

Seven Seas is going to get some of my money too.
Saigo no Seifuku is a good Shoujo-Ai title, and I already love Strawberry Panic - though not as much as Maria-sama ga Miteru (is anyone going to release the Marimite Novels/Manga?) Add in Kodomo No Jikan and they have some of my most eagerly awaited manga titles. It's just a pity we have to wait until next year. JBV^_^ Self-confessed Shoujo/Shoujo-Ai fanboy^_^ |

Man, it's about time. I'm more of a yuri fan..girl than a fanboy (heh heh ; but it's great to see that publishers are willing to expand their markets like this. Really looking forward to whatever Seven Seas throws our way.

Wow. I'm surprised it took this long for a company to realize that there are yuri fans out there. It's about time someone tapped into that market and realized that not all yuri has to be buried in animated hentai to be successful in the US.
A good day for yuri fans indeed (though I'll happily stick to my yaoi instead ;D ) Last edited by domino on Tue Oct 24, 2006 3:43 pm; edited 1 time in total |

We're still working out exact scheduling.
We've joked about getting into the anime biz in a kind of "wouldn't it be cool if...?" kind of way, but we really don't have any plans. Last edited by adam_omega on Tue Oct 24, 2006 5:11 pm; edited 1 time in total |

As a straight female fan of yuri, I'm exceedingly pleased about this news.
I do hope someone licenses Marmite soon, and I hope even more that we'll see some 'fluffy' titles that aren't entirely angsty, just sweet and cute and makes you go 'awwww'. (Do they even exist? ;- ) I can't wait to read Kashimashi (loved the anime!), and Strawberry Panic looks like fun. Isn't Seven Seas releasing Shinigami no Ballad too? Looks like I'll be buying a lot from them next year. *grins* |

I would guess around April, perhaps a bit later. It would make some sense to release the manga around the same time as the novels. |

Seven Seas claims to be publishing the first-ever yuri line of manga in the US.
ALC Publishing has been around since 2003, publishes translated Japanese yuri manga, yuri manga anthologies and a yuri light novel series. These are all released in the US - and in English (for the guy who couldnt tell that our books are English.) We're Thrilled to pieces to see more yuri being released, but Seeven Seas is not the first. Cheers, Erica ALC Publishing - "Where ther girl always gets the girl" http://www.anilesbocon.org/shop#ALC |

We will, but we do license stories from Japan, both for the anthologies, and for the translated manga, such as WORKS and Rica 'tte Kanj!? ALC's a little company. We're doing our best to bring some of the less well-known (not associated with an anime) but high quality story and art yuri over for yuri fandom. We also tend to focus on work by lesbians that identify as "yuri" artists, instead of artsits who don't like to think ofn themselves that way. Most yuri fans are girls, but this fact goes over people's head becuase they don't know what they're talking about. There are males of course, but they aren't as dominant as some people assume. This manga line will probably be releaseing non-porn romance manga, not the stuff that horny losers go to 4chan for. Its not really the yuri fan community's fault that the term was high jacked by porn sites so the tern shoujo-ai had to be created just so people could search for what they wanted to find.
