I think the article is about the whole franchise (novel, anime, manga, radio drama etc.) so it includes info not put into the anime.
yeah the cat spoke after Haruhi willed it. and he's smarter than Kyon too

Yeah, but did Suzumiya will it during the production... as in that exact moment? Did she will the Shamisen to answer that question? Or did she will the cat to talk before that (considering, time-line wise, that the first episode is really the 11th)?

Shamisen was seen talking in episode 00. Everything else comes from hte novels; there were a lot of novel spoilers on the Wiki long before those plot points made an appearanace in the anime.

FYI: an live-action adult video of SHnY is being produced; several roles have been casted. Sorry for not able to provide any link as many ANN users are under 18.

If you could, do you think you could PM me the link you're talking about, dormcat? I'd love to see it.
Don't worry, I'm over 18.

It's gotten that popular they're going to do that version huh? Does that count as dojin?

Sorry, I should repharse that.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Which is the same as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, just in Japanese. It's not the name of the live-action adult film. Well, I suppose it could be, but I was refering to the animation.

No, because doujin stands for "not produced or published by commercial companies" i.e. amateur; it can be of parody nature (which consist over 80%) or truly original characters with a novel storyline. The latter way is always tougher, because one has to start everything from scratch.
The adult video version is being produced by the most famous (or notorious, depending on your stance) cosplaying adult filmmaker that brought us Maria-sama ga Miteiru and Faith/stay knight.

Were by chance any of the Haruhi Suzumiya novels translated into English?
On another note, this thread has become the second most powerful thread in the forum. Do I see a sticky in the near future?

The title of the adult film will be "Suzumiya Hahiru no Yuuutsu." (涼宮ハヒルの憂鬱). How convenient, just switch the sequence of two katakana. And Mikuru will be renamed to "Miruku (みるく)," which is "milk" in Japanese (ミルク).
You asking me why the spoiler tags? Well, just think of milk, and then, adult video...
