Interesting development we have here. (I hope I didn't post this at the same time as someone else)

That explains the ultra-cheap last minute box set releases a few months back. This new release could be interesting, but considering how cheap it the whole thing can be had for already, I'm not sure how much people will care, even with the adjustments to the dub and cleaning up. Still, I'm looking forward to this, and perhaps it'll encourage newer fans to take a look at an old favorite.

I doubt it'll come to Cartoon Network, since it seems they'd rather stick to newer stuff (barring DBZ) these days, but it would be cool if I were proven wrong.

The site didn't even remotely hint that it would come to CN so I'm not sure where you picked up that idea. Confused

vvvvv just noticed. I guess since it's "Toonami Infolink" they figured they'd toss in a comment. Anyway, seems most of FUNimation's licenses these days don't make it to TV. Even Fruits Basket hasn't.

Really, they must have just updated it then.

No word yet on Slayers making it to Cartoon Network. FoxKids had the TV rights originally, but it seems that FUNimation now has that option.

My guess, I'm not a mind reader mind you, he putting togather the history of Fun projects coming over to CN. With all the small bust jokes, if it does come to CN, Toonami or AS will work. The boob jokes doen't make that big of impact of the story. But yeah, the age might keep people way.

I was thinking about checking out the series at one point I may look into it again. I wasn't too impressed with the dubbing of the series in the preview I looked at.

I have seen and liked the motion picture though.

I pretty psyched for the rights being passed since Funimation will be revising a lot of things to be more fan-friendly and is still keeping the same price. =D

Does this mean bandai is creating new products or something?

What does this have to do with the topic at hand?

Sorry, I mean: will FUNIMATION, now that it has slayers, release new products/cast new voices/toys? Or do they just get money for every dvd that gets sold by CPM?

No, or at least I don't think so. CPM is allowed to distribute their version of Slayers until FUNimation releases theirs and once that happens, CPM must cease distribution of theirs.

I'd be very surprised if this were true.

More likely, CPM can no longer make or sell Slayers. You'll still see CPM's version in stores because the stores still have inventory to sell... but once those run out, they won't be able to buy any more sets from CPM. Instead, if they want to continue stocking Slayers, they'll need to contact FUNimation and buy from them instead.
