Momoka Ariyasu Announces Graduation From Momoiro Clover Z Group
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Idol singer and Momoiro Clover Z member Momoka Ariyasu announced on the official Momoiro Clover Z website on Monday that she will graduate from the group after a scheduled concert on January 21.
In her message, the 22-year-old singer mentioned that she has been with the group for eight years, but has now decided to distance herself from the entertainment business and pursue a "normal" woman's life. She thanked her fellow unit members, as well as her fans for understanding her decision.
Ariyasu joined Momoiro Clover Z (then named Momoiro Clover) in 2009, and is the sixth and last member of the group to join.
Momoiro Clover Z previously sang theme songs for Sailor Moon Crystal, Bodacious Space Pirates, Joshiraku, Pokémon: Black and White, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F',' and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III. (When the group had six members instead of five, they sang themes for In Solitude Where We Are Least Alone and Dragon Crisis! under their original name Momoiro Clover.) The group performed the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' theme song in English, and voiced characters in the film.
Momoiro Clover Z performed at the 2015 Anime Expo, with KISS founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons making an appearance. The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards Japan awarded the music video of the song "Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina" — the collaboration song between Momoiro Clover Z and American rock band KISS — in the "Best Collaboration" category in December 2014.
