Junya Inoue's Btooom! Manga Enters Final Arc
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The May issue of Shinchosha's Gekkan Comic @Bunch magazine announced on Thursday that Junya Inoue's Btooom! manga is entering its final arc in the next issue on April 21.
The manga centers around Sakamoto, a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young man and a top-ranked player in the online combat game Btooom! One day, he wakes up on a tropical island without remembering how he got there. He sees a figure in the distance and asks for help. However, the figure responds by throwing something at Ryūta — a "BIM" bomb.
Btooom! ran in Shinchosha's Weekly Comic Bunch and Monthly Comic @Bunch magazines, and the 13th volume shipped in Japan in January. Yen Press is releasing the original manga in North America, and the fifth volume shipped last month.
Kotono Watanabe directed a 12-episode anime adaptation in 2012, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on Blu-ray and DVD last year.
Inoue is still serializing La Vie en Doll manga in Shueisha's Jump X (Jump Kai) magazine. The first volume shipped in Japan in January.
