Tonari no 801 chan Fujoshi Manga Adapted for Shōjo Mag

The official website for Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine has announced that Ajiko Kojima's Tonari no 801-chan manga blog will spawn its first shōjo spinoff manga in the magazine's January issue (on sale November 28). The artist Jin will create the new manga.
The original four-panel Tonari no 801-chan manga blog wryly explores the relationship between an adult fujoshi (an otaku of boys-love stories) and her hapless otaku boyfriend. Ohzora Publishing Co. published the manga in two volumes that have sold 320,000 copies. Bessatsu Friend's Tonari no 801-chan: Fujoshi-teki Kōkō Seikatsu (A Fujoshi-Style High School Life) spinoff manga will center on a new character named Rei Hoshino. Rei was ridiculed by her middle-school classmates for her love of manga, anime, and boys-love material, but she is about to enter high school and potentially transform her life.
Like its predecessor, the spinoff manga will credit Kyoto's 801 shopping arcade for using the arcade's furry green mascot as the embodiment of the heroine's extreme fujoshi tendencies. ("801" can be pronounced in Japanese like "yaoi.") The original manga has already been adapted into a live-action DVD movie.
