Gold-Plated, Diamond-Encrusted PS4 Controller Can Be Yours for US$13,995

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

For gamers who have several wads of cash burning holes in their pockets, Brikk is offering a gold-plated and diamond-encrusted PlayStation 4 controller. The Lux DuaShock 4 controller's "classic" version costs only US$8,495, and the "deluxe" version will set rich video game enthusiasts back a paltry US$13,995. The controllers are available now, and they can arrive worldwide within three to four weeks. Who wants to be first in line?

Brikk describes the controller as "a handcrafted premium version of the Sony DualShock 4 controller for the PlayStation 4." This "exquisitely practical" peripheral is coated in 24-carat gold and covered in three layers of clear veneer. The classic version has just one diamond-covered 18-carat gold button, the PlayStation button, which features seven diamonds that total 0.25 carats in weight. The other buttons are from the original JDM-055 controller.

For people who are above resting their thumbs on mere normal buttons, the deluxe version comes with nine solid gold buttons studded with diamonds. The PlayStation, directional, triangle, circle, x, and square buttons are all adorned with diamonds that weigh in at 2.20 carats in total. Indeed, this is one "resplendent" controller.

Various customization options are also available upon request. Instead of gold, the controller can be plated with platinum, rose gold, black rhodium, or rainbow titanium. Fans who want their over US$10,000-dollar controllers to be different than all their friends' simple gold controllers can also request buttons made of titanium, carbon, zinc, or magnesium. Still more higher-end alternatives include buttons with higher-grade diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, or other precious stones. And "for the perspicacious individual," custom thumbsticks, trigger stops, and board mods are also available. Of course, the controller comes in its own exclusive aluminum case.

The holidays are right around the corner, and everyone is going have their sights set on the latest gaming gear. PS4 users who want "the ultimate companion for all discerning gamers" better line up now.
