A Silent Voice Film's Theatrical Screenings to Offer Subtitles for Hearing Impaired

posted on by Amanda Ellard

Theatrical screenings of Kyoto Animation's upcoming movie A Silent Voice will offer Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired. It may not be surprising, considering the nature of the story, despite the act being somewhat rare. These subtitled screenings will run in every theater that is playing the film from September 24 through September 30, with a subtitled screening once a day. The official website stated that it would update regarding screenings after September 30.

The movie, based off of Yoshitoki Ōima's A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi) bestselling manga, will open in Japan on September 17 and advanced tickets will go on sale on June 4.

The Blu-ray Disc and DVD for the recent Girls und Panzar The Movie also attracted attention recently with its extraordinarily detailed support feature for the hearing impaired.
