Yotsuba's beloved teddy bear, Juralumin (or Duralumin), will soon be available in real life courtesy of German toymaker Steiff. Juralumin's pose, color, ribbon tie, and even its growl ("Meeeh") have been faithfully reproduced with the oversight of Kiyohiko Azuma, Yotsuba&!'s artist, himself. The bears are individually made and come with Steiff's trademark button and tag in the ear and a serial number.
Juralumin's price tag is 45,360 yen (about $370). If the bear is bought on Movic's website, customers will also get this autographed card from Kiyohiko Azuma (although not necessarily on the same day). Orders will be taken beginning on December 1, and shipping will begin on December 14.
Juralumin's availability coincides with the publication in Japan of Volume 13 of Yotsuba&! on November 27 — which features the bear on its cover.
