When Funimation started to do the casting of the English dub of this series they wanted the primary characters to be voiced by actors who weren't strangers to the Lupin III franchise. Which is why Sonny Strait, Chris Sabat, & Mike McFarland were able to repraise their original roles and Richard Epcar & Michelle Ruff were casted to fill in the roles of Zenigata & Fujiko respectively.

Richard Epcar was casted to do the English voice of Zenigata when the other former voice actors for the character were either unavalible, unable to be contacted, or aren't in the voice acting business anymore.

The primary characters' names were pronouce more correctly in the English dub in order to be more faithful to the series. In example, Lupin is pronouced as "Lu-pon" as oppose to "Lu-pin".

Most of Sonny Strait's lines took as much as four takes upon recording for the English dub.

Chris Sabat at first wasn't sure if Richard Epcar would accept the role of Zenigata instead of Jigen for the English dub of the series. However Epcar is perfectly alright with the role & gladly accepted it.

Michelle Ruff at first wasn't sure about repraising her role as Fujiko after hearing that only Richard Epcar will only be involved with the English dub and none of the other voice actors from the Geneon English dub. However after meeting the Funimation staff, she decided to repraise her role after seeing how great the staff was.
