You've probably all heard of it and I was just wondering if it's any good. I think that it looks cool and was thinking of buying it. Can you tell me what you think of it? BTW, I've never read any of CLAMP's other manga (except Chobits #1).
Your opinions would be appreciated, thanks! Cool

While I do enjoy it, it's best described as many of the Clamp characters in an alternate universe. I'd strongly suggest you read some of the older works (especially Card Captor Sakura, X, Rayearth, etc.) to familiarize yourself so you can appreciate it more.

Tsubasa is sort of a big fanfiction treat CLAMP made for their fans. If you are unfamilar with CLAMP's past works, then you won't be able to enjoy Tsubasa as much of as someone familar with the characters would be. Without the background knowledge of the characters Tsubasa would probably be a pretty boring read for you.

Thanks, but don't the characters have new personalities?

What CLAMP manga would you recommend to read first then?

1) Not exactly. Most of the characters keep the same personality.

2) Tsubasa heavily relies on Card Captor Sakura, so I recommend CCS to understand most of the characters.

Right now Tsubasa seems to be using 3 manga heavily: CCS, XXXholic, and X. Plots and main characters from other manga have shown up, but those three manga seem to have the strongest influence. CCS is the really big one since the main characters are originally from that series.

I wouldn't really say the characters have completely different personalities. Syaoran and Sakura are slightly older, but Yuki still likes Touya, Syaoran still likes and blushes at Sakura, Sakura is just slightly more aggressive... Tomoyo is... different, but she was always... a nut, so maybe not. Arashi and Sorata don't really seem that different... but before I continue on a senseless rant like this, I'll just say that is you're trying to get into CLAMP and are using this as your first manga, don't. I love it to death, but only because it has all the CLAMP characters I love so much. I admit, the story is one of the most unoriginal and boring things they have come up with *course that could change*, but it's only really entertaining to those who know the characters.

Honestly, I will say I am pretty much only reading it because Sakura and Syaoran are my #1 favorite pairing in all of manga and anime, so I'm just reading it for the Sakura/Syaoran moments. *has been crying for years for CLAMP to continue CCS so she could see Sakura and Syaoran older with a relationship*

Personally I think CLAMP was playing a bit too many videogames *cough Kingdom Hearts cough* when they came up with the Tsubasa idea.

Thanks a lot for your help, I think I'll try to get my hands on Card Captor Sakura. I liked the anime, so I bet the manga's even better. Razz

I just bought this a manga yesterday and i thought it was pretty good. The only Clamp manga i've read is Chobits and i've seen the X anime. Other than that, i'm barely familiar with any of Clamp's other works. (Well i guess i have seen an episode or two of Rayearth and CCS, but that's just about it.)

The only problem that i'm having with Tsubasa right now is that it makes me want to go out and buy almost every title from Clamp Anime catgrin + sweatdrop
