I just my hands on it today, though i shouldn't of gotten it, i'm not 18. But the lady at the cart sold it to me. It's a great manga, i think i like it more then the anime already. I should've gotten the 2nd one while i was there. Oh well next time. Its really not for the weak minded/stomach. It's awsome though. If you dont mind the violence, get this anime. You wont regret it.

Hey! I just got the berserk manga on sat. too!!!!and i'm not 18! The manga is very...intense and has alot of un-nessesary violence I think. I couldn't decide on that or Battle Royale. But There was a vol. of BR that was out of its shrink wrap and I decided that my parents would rather me have berserk than BR(if you know what I mean ) I need Vol. 2!!! and i bought the Jan. issue of Newtype ^^

Yes, it is awsome. Really, the first few books are just a warmup. Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet. The only problem is, I've heard people complain about still not being able to get book two in some areas. I'm one of those people who still don't have book two, even though I preorderd it a month ahead of time. It's not a big deal to me, as I've already read every volume thats been released (26 in all) online, but I really think Darkhorse should do a better job making sure the manga is avilable for everyone when it's comes out.

Yeah, comparitively speaking, the first couple volumes of Berserk are about one mL of sex/violence/bad stuff next to about a teraliter (don't know if that exists) of aforementioned evil. But the artwork is wonderful, particularly the final few volumes. If being under 18 is a problem, you might try finding a distributor with one of your buddies or a random 18- worker running the register. That, or just don't shave for a while before you go buy it. (If you're a guy )

I just finished reading the second volume of Berserk. Its great, I like it so much more then the anime, though the anime was very good. Will we be getting the third book too? Or is second book the last book to be brought out for the experiment (to see if Berserk will be sold in America for sure)? Im left wanting more...

The third GN is available as a pre-order and will be out, I believe, the 13th of April from Dark Horse.

The manga is still ongoing in Japan and it's up to 26 I believe. If Berserk sells well for Dark Horse, we are looking at about six years to have all the issues that are currently out now in Japan (given that DH releases a GN every 3 months.)

Geez that is harsh...one gn for every three months. That is gonna take forever to get the whole series out. What that will be like six years and nine months...thats way too long. Hell I'll be almost twentyfour, I might be over it by then. Dang that is long. I hope they will speed it up if DH does continue it.

Bah, try being a Ranma fan. 2010 is the target year for the last volume. Viz started selling Ranma in 1990, so 6 years isn't too bad.

Haha, true. That sucks, a span of twenty years. That is long, much longer then Berserk. Still six years is a good amount of time. Glad I wasn't into Ranma.

Didn't I hear something about Dark Horse only confirming the first 3 volumes? I heard that they were going to hold until they were happy with the sales and then decide to finish the series.

Sorry about the double post, my computer dsl was lagging up, I pushed submit a few times thinking it wasnt going through. But it did, so sorry about that.
Yes, your right. I'm just saying if it is a success it will take a long to time to get all the volumes because they said only one gn comes out every three months. I'm hoping they will bring the rest. So all I'm saying is if it all comes out here it's gonna take a bit to own all of them. Because how they plan of releasing them.

got a question about berserk:
Caska gives birth to a demon of some kind but who is the father of this "child"? You would normally think it is Femto(Griffith).
But that Skull Knight said that that child has grown inside Caska for months so if you look it that way, the father should be Gutts. If that is the case, Then the rape of Caska must have influenced the development of that child and it must have become a demon.
What do others have to say in this matter?
