The Funimation subs for the Witchblade OP song translates Shoto Sunzen as Before the Shot, but I think it means Short Circuit. This phrase is also used in Moonlight Densetsu and is the title for a Barbee Boys song. Can someone whose Japanese is better than mine confirm this error?

Since the first phrase of 'XTC' is 'ショート寸前', as you guess, probably the songwriter wrote it, referring to a short circuit. When the English word 'shot' is transliterated into Japanese, Japanese usually write it as 'ショット'. By the way, the title of a manga by Sakurai Susugi is Short Sunzen! 『ショート寸前！』, too. |
