Hmm... I guess the English dub will be the one done by Animaze? That would make the most sense. Will this be available in the states? Although the price point of $222 is cost-prohibitive, the fact that it is a limited pressing does entice me a bit....I will admit.

Five episodes for $222. Watch BVUSA sell it for $200 in the States.

Dang - what a price - BUT its an excellent marketing move on their part - plenty of places out there that sell things like this, so I am expecting that you could save about 20% to 30% off the top end price

Yep, CDJapan already has it on pre-order for 24800yen, $209.35. It's actually not a discount, though, the 26040yen price includes Japanese sales tax that wouldn't be charged over seas. Emerje |

This is true since the current batch of Bandai Visual Blu-ray titles are 9,800 Yen or about $83 US. They sell there US versions for $80.
I just got struck by an idea which is the perfect compromise for BVUSA. They should just release all their Bandai Visusal Japan titles region free with subtitles in both countries for the BVUSA/BV prices. This will bring them their extra cash they expect from fans who want their titles fast, and bring them faster than their current release (where is Patlabor in HD?) They can then license out a R1 version in the way they used to which will include a dub and a much lower price tag. This is a win win situation, no? |

That's a reverse. Normally, you'll find a subbed Japanese language anime in the US or bilingual (English/Japanese) DVDs. However, to have the Japanese have a DVD with our language in their home, that's weird.

This is the case with most of the Bandai Visual Blu-ray titles. I don't understand why they bother with a US release since it is the same price, and at least in the Honnamise Blu-ray it is the exact same pressing complete with Japanese menus.
