No Voltron? NO DUB?!
NO SAFETY!
Seriously, Media Blasters have some nerve to keep this "If it ain't voltron, don't dub it" mentality that they've been on as of late. I can understand the yuri and such stuff not geting a dub but christ on a bike, do they think all the people who already have this show in Fansub form (and you know who you are) will buy these even though they have the show as is?
*Sigh*, aw well, at least it isn't being sold for like 80$ like Bandi Visual's swill.

Well...
(A) - Yes, I've already seen it...
(B) - Yes, I'll probably pick it up...
(C) - No, I couldn't possibly care less that it's not dubbed, as I vastly prefer the creator's original content...
(D) - And contrary to the review, I don't like the Three Stooges, but found Muteki Kanban Musume quite amusing anyways...

They said they will be dubbing the Genshiken OVA, Kujibiki Unbalance TV, and Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny. I've asked myself the same question regarding these DVDs' appeal to those who've seen the fansubs. And believe me, a lot of people in the fansub world have a fairly low opinion of Media-Blasters' subbing work, especially on series like Genshiken. But despite all that, I have picked up Kashimashi and Girl's High after seeing them fansubbed, and they've come out and said that Kashimashi is performing decently for a sub-only release. So there must be some hope in it.
As for Ramen Fighter Miki, I never did see it fansubbed, so I'll probably wait to get the collection for under $20 with a "better than nothing" flimsy cardboard artbox. As someone on AoD said to their review of this volume, "Sorry Media-Blasters, you did it to yourselves."

This is really a very funny and cute show. There's a ton to like about it, but I think Carl covered all the bases so I won't gush too much. I actually think it's a great thing it wasn't dubbed, because the show is SO intense and SO much relies on the visuals and mile-a-minute delivery that a bad dub, or even an average one, would really ruin it. The other thing it really does is that it never tries to be more than it is. It's 13 (or 12, I forget) episodes of comedy punctuated by one of the most hilarious conclusions I've ever seen. Looking forward to owning it.
Edit : AND it's friggin cheap. I found it for 13.50 at deep discount DVD. You really don't have much to lose by giving it a try.

And why are they dubbing KujiUn? I was under the impression that it was utter tosh.

Well, it sounds like a fun show. Something I would enjoy... And normally having to watch something subbed wouldn't bother me...
BUT! If it's as fast paced as it sounds, I don't think I'd be able to keep up with what's going and and what's being said at the same time.

As plain as the character's designs are, they make the greatest faces.
