Is there any good manga related blog or review site out there?
Only one that I usually check is Read About Comics (not blog) and it has some nice reviews. |

Sorry, I don't know any good sites, but Otaku USA magazine was really good. It covered manga, anime, movies, video games...
If you want to look at reviews on the internet just to see if something is good, try amazon.com. |

I myself, think that Animeondvd has some good reviews a link to manga reviews would be http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/manga/ you click on a letter and it lists the titles under the letter you chose.

I'd second that. Thats probably the best magazine available now. It doesn't hurt that I'm a big fan of Patrick Macias, and the AWO crew, but I think I can step outside of that and say that it is objectively the best anime/manga magazine your money can get now. |

With about 15 manga reviewers at AoD we try and crank out as many reviews as possible (maybe ten or so a week across all genres). For news and discussions about publishers the forum members are pretty good at popping in with tidbits in the Manga Discussions Forums. Also second the nomination for MangaCast. A few reviews but most importantly news of upcoming releases with cover art, genre, and book count, and in depth podcasts of every big convention in the US and Ed usually makes it to some in Japan. Ed also does a cool segment every week with a list of the top ten manga and links in Japan for Ero, mainstream, and I think BL. Another segment I like is the manga release list for the week. I think he is also writing a segment for Otaku USA now. I also can't fail to mention my second favorite blog, Icarus Publishing. The company publishes ero manga, but even if that isn't your thing Simon has daily comments and links across the manga blogoshpere discussing everything from mainstream manga to US comic related news along the lines of legal battles. Overall an entertaining site. Hope this helps. |

I'd go with Journalista, which is the blog for The Comics Journal, a very high-end and sophisticated magazine devoted to comics. It's updated every day with various links and has an entire section devoted to manga. A good place to start and discover other blogs from. Some of my frequent hits are Precocious Curmudgeon, Shaenon Garrity's Livejournal and Sporadic Sequential. Not unnecessarily strictly manga but Christopher Butcher is one of the best comics bloggers out there who happens to have impeccable taste in manga.
If you want reviews of unlicensed (and obscure/alternative by most people's standards) manga then professional translator and scanslator Stephen Paul has TONS of great stuff at his blog. Ditto for Adam Stephanides. Anyone looking to get into more progressive seinen or underground manga should definitely give these places a look. Andrew Cunningham is another translator (and ANN poster) who reviews a wide-variety of titles, usually focusing on light novels. |
