I would have been over the moon by this news, had the anime not been based off a manga. I've yet to confirm whether the manga is finished though; if so, then i will be happy.

I wonder what role Watanabe will have in the production. I presume that it will be more significant than a few storyboards, but I don't want to leap into thinking that he'll be directing it.
That's a very simple premise, but so were a lot of the premises for the stories in Cowboy Bebop. I am now dangerously eager to see this. The soundtrack for this could be pretty great. Cowboy Bebop was responsible not only for revivifying my fondness for anime, but also spurred my interest in jazz. The prospect of two of the people responsible for that working on the same project is pretty exciting. |

The concept makes me happy, the source material is apparently good (winning the Shogakukan Award is a good sign) and the staff is pretty stellar. This should definitely be one to watch. Name fixed. Last edited by Saffire on Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:18 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Someone pinch me, please...
Watanabe Shinichiro is directing a new anime series 8 years after Samurai Champloo? I had almost given up hope... |

I think Nabeshin is the "other" Watanabe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinichi_Watanabe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watanabe_Shinichiro Last edited by Erunno on Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:10 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I am now irrationally, irresponsibly excited. Even if it ultimately disappoints me, it supplied at least an emotional high for a while. Last edited by Surrender Artist on Thu Jan 26, 2012 12:31 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I so wish i could join the bandwagon of jubilation. I vowed to never again start watching a series based on an ongoing manga series. *sigh*

I read the first chapter of this series a while ago and thought it was fairly interesting.
But now knowing who's working on this adaptation just made me 10x more excited. |

This is fantastic! It will be criminal if it's not streamed.

Ditto re Surrender Artist commentary re Cowboy Bebop revivng anime and jazz to a larger appreciative audience. That show kindled the embers of my interest into a perpetual flame. Would love to view this series if it becomes reality in our lifetimes.

Whoa! What a pedigree! I was planning to keep an eye out for this series anyway. The name associated with this show makes me hope someone licenses it.
Also happy that this is a NoitaminA show. I was losing hope for this block with this season. Urgh. I'm so excited for this! |
