Nice, I was sure MTV was going to get the show I never reallly expected Much Music to get it, even though it works to be on the channel.
Anyways funimation has a trailer for dub on their site http://www.funimation.com/f_index.cfm?page=trailers&sub=list&trailerprop=beck&sort=datenew# They did a pretty good job except I dont really like the womens voices. |

Personally, I think the dub voices for this.... suck. Koyuki's voice was a little too serious, Ryuusuke's voice sounded a lot older than 16.. lol, and Satou's voice was downright awful, since it didn't have any points of the original character. The woman's voices were ok, as long as Maho's voice isn't that bad . Who knows, maybe it'll turn out to be great... I wonder how the music will sound dubbed, seeing as how they do play Brainstorm, but didn't have Chiba sing any of the lyrics...
Anyway, sadly I don't have Much Music =\ |

Actually, it's a Canadian network. The American stream doesn't run anymore (I believe there used to be one) |

well you also have to keep in mind that around 2 years progresses in the anime storyline and hiring new voice actors would just provide confusion to the veiwers and cost more money, well I think. |

Wow, really? On Much Music? That was completely unexpected to me. I'm not one to normally hate on dubs but with all the english in this anime, its going to seem a little odd to me. I'm interested in seeing how they do it.

Muchmusic US used to show Muchmusic programming. The channel has since been renamed fuse and cut off all affiliation with Muchmusic. I think some of the border states might still get Muchmusic, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't be expecting it to show in the US. |

Interesting enough, although I'm not sure I want to watch the dubbed version of Beck. Odd that they will air episodes now, but I've yet to be able to see it either being licensed or on DVD. Maybe someone could enlighten me on this problem?

Just wondering but how are they gonna explain the parts where Ryuusuke is speaking engrish calling out to beck in the first part and later on (not to spoil it to others) parts when they actually need too speak english?

Agreed on all of the above points. Ray sounded way too old. Satou is usually either way over the top, or sheepish - none of that calm, collected sound of the small clip played. The guy who's supposed to be playing Chiba was the voice of Dende, Raditz and Super Maijin Buu from DBZ, as well as "black haru" from Furuba. LOL that doesn't help me figure out what he's going to sound like at all I'm really quite curious to hear the music. Even though I've only heard a small chunk of the voice cast, so far it doesn't look all that promising to me... I still want to buy it, but as much as I love BECK, the tunes could be a deal breaker. |

This is AMAZING!! The fact that MuchMusic is even venturing out there and showing an awesome music-related anime like BECK is pretty sweet in itself so I'm not going to complain yet about the dub (I'll wait until I see it for myself).
This is one of my all-time favourite animes/mangas and one of the few non-shoujo titles that I'm obsessed with I'm curious as to how they the singing of the songs will play out... and yeah all the parts that are actually in English will be interesting to see too. |

I dunno... I think Taliesin Jaffe flew out to Texas just to do this one, so I'm confident that I'll [really] like it considering my exposure to his other works; no way in hell the dub will disappoint.
Speed Grapher has been great, so I'm at least expecting that level of workmanship (or something). Anyway, considering how much I'm enjoying Osamu Kobayashi's work on Paradise Kiss... uhh... no way in hell this will disappoint... So yeah... all I have to do now is wait. On the the topic though... This is a great way to hype the show though, I have to say... err... I'm assuming it is, anyway. |

The first two episodes are on the muchmusic website
http://www.muchmusic.com/tv/beck/ Beside the disco Much ball it says AXS, Vibe, Loud, Punch Much, and Razer, so click on the AXS and a new window will appear. It's the large disco Much Ball not at the very top but on the white background. At bottom left there is a column where at the top it says Hot and All. Click on All and then Beck and it should be there. EDIT: On that same column If you click on Razer (three under Beck) you can see Trinity Blood, Basilisk and Samurai 7 |
