I feel like I should've seen Chiaki Kobayashi coming.
Though visually it looks on-point as an adaption.

fudge YES!!!!! I only saw Chiaki-chan as Yoshiki so this is absolutely fantastic news!!!

Right? It’s one of those castings where you think, ‘Of course!’ after the fact. And yeah, the visuals really do justice to the source material.

Thought Hiraoka's episode of Poketoon was more off-putting than a short animation for children is probably intended to be. So I guess it's a good thing he's getting a chance to do more with weird fleshy goo tentacles instead.

God dang, of any studios I never expected CygamesPictures is behind that - considering it is technically count as their first time adapting something that is not tied to the games or being completely original work.

The Summer Hikaru Died debuts in summer. Yea, that checks out. Heard a lot of good things about this so I'll have to add it to my consider list when it drops.
