Why's it freaking gotta be red though? Maybe it doesn't look - as much - like the Slam Dunk poster, but now it looks like one of those old school Chinese propaganda posters.

I don't think there's any deeper meaning to the red here, red is just the most eye-catching colour psychologically.

Red represents the Sun and Japan is the Land of the Rising Sun and the one color on their flag.
