Well, this is an interesting spin on things. A time-jump that doesn't involve them married with child and still teasing. I wonder how the humor/teasing will read now that they're adults. Although I guess it also probably means they never outright confessed or went out as kids. Will that happen here?
Also Nishikata becoming a gym teacher is hilarious. Especially thinking about Tanabe (even though he was an English teacher).
I wonder if we'll see what the rest of the gang are like as adults? I mean, we have to see what the schoolgirl trio is up to, right!?

They could still be dating and just haven't gotten around to getting married yet.

Main manga recently ends and as expected festival scene from anime adaptation was most likely provided by manga author and Nishikata confessed there. With all this spin offs really only one blind spot left in story is a high school and there is almost 300 chapters of Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san about their adult life, I highly recommend it.

The math from the sequel manga indicates that she got pregnant and married like RIGHT out of highschool, she had Chi when she was around 18-19 so we are gonna get stuck dealing with a kid if its canon/lore accurate.
