Rank: They improved the AV. Plus, DT said if you want more magical girl shows, you have to support stuff like Nanoha.

The Japanese upscale looked good from most accounts so it should be a fine upgrade.

This! If that means eventually the possiblity of Tokyo Mew Mew (and other titles like Doremi and PreCure), hopefully getting picked up. At least them getting the first season of the Nanoha TV series is a big get, so far.

But yeah, this Discotek Day had some stuff I remember previously seeing either trailers/OP's (Love-Com and Kamikaze Girls) or even watching it somehow on Cable/Sat (Dual!), completely out of nowhere, but then remembered that it happened, lol.

Not sure if I'll double dip for Lovely Complex yet, but the dub sounds fun. Bonus points for casting actual couples! (Amber Lee Connors and Howard Wang are engaged, Alejandro Saab and Hayden Daviau are married).

Ren: It's dubbed and has an AV upgrade, too.

I'm most excited for Kamikaze Girls rerelease! I shared the news with the lolita community so I hope it doesn't flop.

I am kinda interested in Lovely Complex and IGPX because they're from my youth and have fond memories of the shows.

TIL there's a live-action film for Fatal Frame. Wonder how good it is? Love the games.

This is nice. Lovely Complex, Nanoha S1, Hand Maid May, and Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure are big-time nostalgic favorites of mine, so great to see them rescued. I have the Geneon releases on the latter three. Never got around to getting Lovely Complex on DVD, so this gets my interest.

As for "some interesting early DVD oddities" on Hand Maid May, I wonder if that means they will even include the trolling Nanbara on loading the disc. That's sure to confuse some people.

Glad to get confirmation that we'll see all of the new FOTNS movies.

Never heard of Futakoi but it looks like something I might like.

Nice to see Kamikaze Girls getting a re-release too. I saw it back in its original DVD release some 15 years ago and really liked it.

Minor complaints: Still so many classic and cult favorite shows from the 80's and 90's I'd love to see DiscoTek get but haven't yet. I get my hopes up every time DiscoTek does a licensing announcement dump like this.

I also keep holding out hope that the Strike The Blood OVA's or KonoSuba movie will show up in their solicits someday. But no luck, so far.

Finally

i have been holding out on buying the old Dual Parallel Trouble DVD's for so long cause i knew there was a chance that Discotek would license them and sure enough they finally did.

You can always count on them to license the older niche classics Smile

From the trailers it looks nothing like the games TBH. I'll still give it a watch but don't expect that much.

I don't care about Futakoi, except for hoping it means the wonderful, crazy, spinoff Futakoi Alternative will get licensed.

As tedious as I found watching Belladonna of Sadness, I'll probably get it just for the Mike Toole commentary.

Does not this mean some of the forum "license Holy Grail" titles have been licensed? I remember Dual!Parallel Trouble among those that were mentioned in that thread.
