If this show were announced mid 2000s, it would've inevitably been compared to K-On!
Early 2020s, it would've been compared to... dunno, Bang Dream?
And now, alas, this is announced after Bocchi. Anime smile + sweatdrop

This one if any is influenced by bang dream ongoing success.

The logo leaked in April.. 2022, way before the airing of bocchi.

Well, K-On! premiered in 2009, so no comparison could have been made if this show had premiered in the mid-2000’s.

I would say it would be compared to Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (2004), but that is sadly a very overlooked title even when it aired. I remember (IIRC) that when I met Trina Nishimura to get her autographs for my Blu-Rays of Steins Gate and Attack on Titan, I told her Steins Gate was in my top 5 favorite FUNimation dubs, along with both FMA dubs, Baccano, and Beck, and she was legit surprised to meet a fan who had watched Beck.

It is available on Crunchyroll now, so it would be awesome if Bocchi fans find Beck in their recommendations and give it a try, though that’s probably wishful thinking on my part. Anime smile + sweatdrop

'Throw is all away' is the opposite of what buchikome means. Here, this means throw all those emotions into your music.

I was not fully paying attention as I was skimming the headlines and at a glance thought this was something to do with Bang Dream! Girls Band Party.

I don't even ever watch anything from Toei anymore, and they're still finding ways to disappoint me.

It is nice to see music based manga/anime have their time in the spotlight, for me I started with Beck back in the day, then was into Nodame Cantabile, I was post college when K-On came out but went and watched it years after it came out.

Never saw Bochi or heard about Girls Band Cry.

But it's all nice to see Smile
