Well, that's kind of funny. Looks like Sonic gets the reverse of the Kirby cover treatment. Kirby used to always have a happy/cute face on his Japanese box art that would get altered to be an angry/serious face for the US release for whatever reason. Now the US release has the smiling face and Japan gets the super serious one.

^ Yeah, I was thinking similarly. I wonder what led to this decision to have Sonic look serious in this poster.
