I wouldn't call this trailer HYPE but i am a bit more interested in this series now. From a animation standpoint it looks pretty good.Looks can be deceiving though so i still have my guard up.

I would call this trailer HYPE! Now this is how you do one. I'm very impressed and I can't wait to start it.

lol, when i saw "From the team that brought you Twin Star Exorcist" even tho they butchered the anime, but okay.
I'm just waiting for the full trailer, because i really can't say anything about it, only the visuals and they were good. But for the love of god, i hope they don't come up with tons of fillers and all, because that's gonna suck.

Crunchyroll saying that makes tons of sense though, because even though you seemed to have hated it, those 3 are some of CR's most popular shows. They all stayed at the top of their popularity charts for most of the time they were airing.

As a massive fan of this series ever since the first manga chapter was released, I'm pleased that the anime is finally happening.
I was fully expecting Studio Pierrot to be the ones animating it and even know I've know that fact for a while, watching this preview the visual are quite honestly stunning. I'm shocked.
Got high hopes for this, I just hope they don't pad the hell out of this with filler. From the scenes in the preview it's going to cover at least 2-3 arcs easily.

I was pretty disappointed when I found out the Xebec wasn't doing the full anime but after this teaser my expectations have risen a bit. Worst case scenario we'll get a anime with eye candy fight scenes, I just hope there wont be too much filler in this...

I've only read the first few chapters, but I couldn't get it out of my head that the main characters were basically Hinata and Kageyama transplanted into a fantasy setting.
I've got a question for manga readers: I've read lots of places that it's just a generic shonen, but that criticism can be leveled at some of my favorite series (Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, My Hero Academia). Does it ever expand upon its generic premise like those series did?

Not really, no. Having generic themes and cliches is fine, as long as the execution is good(that's why Academia is praised for example). However, Black Clover is not that. It's not awful, but it's not good either. It just feels like the mangaka is checking off a list, rather than trying to create a good story. The best thing I can say is that the comedy is fun. I am looking forward to the anime because it could help make the source material more enjoyable.

It stays pretty much with the basic template a shonen would use. What makes Black Clover great imo is its fun cast and great action.

No, it does not. I personally find the manga incredibly generic to a fault, the characters shallow, the main character loud and obnoxious, the artwork mediocre. It's template Shonen that is donee better by series like My hero.

at those first 10 seconds. I spit out my drink. You can really see who they're trying to get to watch this because advertising a series or movie like that is a double edge sword. What that said, while the trailer looked good, it does not represent what the adaptation will become. If you've watched anime long enough, I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself.
