Scum's Wish (TV) Genres: drama, psychological, romance Themes: Plot Summary: Hanabi and Mugi are a super sweet, seemingly perfect couple. Their peers envy them and their impenetrable facade. What they don't know is that Hanabi and Mugi have a not-so-pure secret. ---------------------------------- One of Noitamina' shows announced earlier this year. Should be quite a dramatic ride. |

Episode 1:
Well this was dramatic. OP song is alright, quite melancholic. We got introduction of the main characters and there's some obvious romance flowing in the air. Sanae is more amusing than I had thought to watch. There's quite a bit of human feelings poured into the narratives and I found this surprisingly realistic. They obviously had to censor our some content though so maybe BDs will contain the more lewd parts. Not bad for the start. Pretty sure the show will have 11 episodes. (standard Noitamina style) |

Wow.
I haven't seen an anime this mature and realistic in a long time. It's also heart-breaking. Hanabi's quiet narration throughout the episode is captivating. Apparently this is seinen but it feels more josei to me....or a very mature shoujo, since a high school girl is the main character and it's about romance and being lonely without something real, all from her point of view. Seems to be a very well-directed show that quickly takes over your emotions. Sticking with this one, yes. |

That was actually what I was thinking, it has aspects like a shoujo, but this is quite mature. The ED is surprisingly filled with sex imagery for a show that finished the episode saying that they would not do it. |

This is a very well done show, as you'd expect from noitaminA. I find the premise wholly depressing, though. I'll be watching this, but certainly not with a bubbly, easy-going frame of mind, that's for sure.

It feels a bit too close to reality to be a shoujo series. I share Chiibi's initial impression that this is more what I would expect from josei.
This series is quite intriguing, primarily because of the air of doom hanging over the main couple. The mood from the first episode suggests that the couple will not have any redeeming epiphanies, but let us find out. Orange from last year subverted what I expected from the first episode. |

Episode 2
Holy yuri complications, Batman! Didn't see that coming. Mugi has competition for his faux-girlfriend. Why is it that small, blonde twintails are always brats? And why do I always find them cute? "...you evil succubus." Heh. |

I did see it coming, but that's because I think the opener spoiled it.
I like that we have another series with a different approach to comedy this season. I'm laughing my ass off. |

I do. I make exceptions for head's up on lezzie stuff, though.

BECAUSE THEY ARE CUTE! (Though I can think of three who aren't brats: Uzuki from Happy Lesson, Sakura from Da Capo and Shizuru from Rewrite....but they are all lolis, no mistake. Noriko's just the cutest. I am shocked Kugimiya Rie isn't voicing her because I was positive. Last scene..............well THAT escalated quickly....lol They really built up the tension between Ecchan and Hanabi so I realized it quite early in the episode and yeah, imagery in the OP told me as well. |

I did not pick up from the OP, I kind of tuned out to it, but I picked out who Ecchan liked when she said who might be the one being tricked. Usually that is something that stays underneath without much to show, a Kyoto Animation show in particular comes to mind, so my surprise when apparently hormones got the upper hand. I wonder about the fallout, how will Hanabi react to finding out that her best friend that she relies on is in love with her, and forced herself onto her (is this sentence grammatically correct?). And Sanae that she has possibly just ruined everything. But also, Sanae maybe should have ethically declined to do the sleepover, but the allure of it was probably cruel.
This is the second episode and we have got this far. At least a part of it just made me think of Sasameki Koto. I will try not to be a yuri fanboy. |

Episode 2:
Moca's voice is kinda annoying in this show imo. Ebato's character chemistry with Hanabi is kinda amusing so far. (I found it more entertaining than Moca and Hanabi at the moment). I can't help but laugh at that karaoke scene though. The atmosphere was a balance of light and dark considering the circumstances. Didn't take long for Ebato to make her move heh.. Looks like she couldn't control herself. |

Episode 03
"Why can't it be me?" Ecchan, are you mentally challenged? You can't just ask someone to go and change their sexual preferences....don't be absurd!! "Bad timing!!" That bedroom scene was seriously cute....and a little funny. Uh-oh....looks like the girl of Bro's dreams is a hore. D: I bet she spoiler[totally slept with that kid.] I roll my eyes at my own naivete. It took three times, THREE TIMES for me to notice the sexual imagery in the ED the reviewers and you other guys are talking about. I suppose I'm too innocent. HA!! ................or maybe I just haven't seen enough porn. But I don't like porn. I won't see the stuff unless I actually look for it. I did see it this time....yeah, the pink image in the ED looked like.....um....you know what it looked like. Man, this show certainly ain't for no kids. lol But I love how subtle it keeps things. It certainly treats its audience like mature adults. Last edited by Chiibi on Fri Jan 27, 2017 12:27 am; edited 2 times in total |
