Despite what I may have said in the preview guide's forum, I am interested in the show. I would like to find out about the powers and what happened during his tenure as world dictator, aside from massive destruction, and why he doesn't remember. I actually watched Future Diary all the way through, and it seems the show could be entertaining in the same way even if I can't call it good unqualified. Also despite their similarities, Sadism and Domination are different things. Hence D being separate in BDSM. The first is about pain, physical or emotional and Domination is about power. I'm no expert on the matter though.

Ugh, what a mess. There's waay waaaay too much stuff happening in a single episode.

About the content itself... well... it feels as if someone splattered a cocktail made of "disturbing visuals", "character tropes" and then proceeded to animate whatever sticked to the wall.

Please please please, get better. I really enjoyed Mirai Nikki (Anime hyper)

if unsettling fits of sadomasochism wrapped up in half-baked mythology are the standards this show is aiming for, then I worry that Big Order might just end up becoming Future Diary 2: Diary Harder

Sounds just great for me. Future Diary is no Madoka Magica or Akira, but it was a fantastic show.

Real life is far scarier than anything depicted in anime. Really don't understand why anime fans give a double standard for human darkness as portrayed in anime, over what is shown in live action movies and television. There are far more twisted, psychopathic, and broken people in the real world than there is in anime.

Anime is the last thing you should be watching, if you are looking for tame depictions of darkness.

Here's hoping the designs don't continue to lean more towards the "stupid tree with smiley face for head" and brings it back to... not that crap. Also, if this show wants to have the nuts to do torturing, it needs to have the nuts to not cut to credits like a cute little cheat. I didn't need to HEAR it, in that case, show.

I feel like the concept has potential. It reminds me more of Code Geass than anything though, and that show had all the potential, then nuked it right in the continuity, so, let's see where this goes.

Why? There's certainly plenty of that. It's fine to prefer darker, cynical shows. There's plenty of those too. But it's also perfectly fine to just watch anime for escapist entertainment, in which case lighter, more optimistic fare is probably preferred.

That's what's so great about anime. The offerings are so wide and diverse that there's pretty much something for everyone.

Seems like it's going the Akame ga Kill route where for a major part of the series "the element of surprise" was valued over "telling a good story". Although,I must admit AgK has redeemed itself ever since the author decided he rather end the manga in one big satisfying arc where characters are developed and the show draws in on itself rather than jump about randomly by introducing random characters for violent,"surprising" plot twists. Hope Big Order goes the same route and abandons the whole "plot twists and confusing story make a show good" attitude.

Of course, it's only been one episode, hopefully the next few episode slow down and focus on the story a bit more.

Ah,yes. No anime ever will even come close to conveying the horrors of showing up to the ACT without a No.2 pencil. (lol, but seriously. I am genuinely interested in knowing what kind of environment do you live in, if your real life is scarier than the numerous battle royale type of anime out there).

I have no problem at all with darkness or violence; for me, it's a matter of intentionality. The big problem I ended up having with shows like Future Diary is that all of the violence and misery ended up feeling self-serving. Darkness is all well and good, but when it functions pure awsthetic over having thematic purpose, it comes across as empty and deflation no instead of shocking or intriguing.

Again, that's just me, and I totally get why this and Future Diary's aesthetic would appeal to other people.

So I finally got around to see the episode, and while as a show premiere it indeed felt a little weak, it flashed hints of potential. Let's see how it will pan out.

I, for one, enjoyed the first episode of Code Jojo. I look forward to meeting the other Alter users when they play Carnival Corpse. I wonder what Eiji's Contractor remuneration is.

Even though this show is horrible I will admit that I laughed at the death trap montage.

That sequence was great. I think she has more than made up for her actions in the first ep with that. However, the sequence that I laughed the most was at the beginning of the episode, though not in a good way.

I'm not as bothered by her transition from yan to yandere. What would have bothered me most was if they completely erased her personality and made her a completely dere mind slave. Speaking of domination, his domination of the other Orders was much better than last week's, though it makes me wonder why Rin's had to be sexual when none of the others were. I don't believe for a second that the former leader is under his control though.

I can't say I didn't see his sister actually being his step sister coming. Gotta allow that angle I guess. Really only Oreimo had the courage to let them be actual siblings, though they copped out at the end. Not sure about Mikan from To Love ru though.

Ep 2, and this is the Mirai Nikki experience I remembered.
Yes, it is technically BAD, but sometimes you want that greasy burger that is going to give you bowel movements later because it has that particularly addictive taste.

Rin is now for narrative purposes Yuno Gasai, while the subtle difference is that her killing intent for the male lead currently out trumps any "dere dere" it is still amusing that she is now mystically bound to Eiji through "marriage".

I'm quite enjoying this show. I don't care that it's technically not good, I just want my dose of over-the-top cynicism. There was a scene were the little sister was reading a book with the title "Nietzsche", I'm guessing that kind of philosophy is what the series is trying to portray. Also, that scene were the yandere gets accidentally killed again and again, I really want to see someone play that over with the Benny Hill theme Laughing

One of the better animes this season atleast it was more interesting the that overhyped hero academia offered in the 3episodes so far....
So keep hatin haters because this anime will only get more interesting and enjoyable.

P.S I get lots of code geass and mirari nikki vibe so far from the 2ep Smile

I actually read the manga and it's just as all over the place just as the anime, so i don't know if this is intentional. I somewhat enjoy Big Order, i just hope it makes more sense as the episodes goes on.
