I have been hearing that recently. Its very interesting compared to most j-pop I have listened to, the other stuff in j-pop doesn't sound exactly like it and it sounds even cuter than most other j-pop I know about. While there is some metal mixed in its only in some songs while most songs only have some small power metal section. There are parts of the clips where they even dress like rappers and its so cute. Truly a post modern music, combining electronic, metal and pop.
I am also impressed by their singing skills as well, even though they are extremely young. |

FYI: Babymetal just released the video for their new single on YouTube.

Presumably this is what they'll sing during the Colbert appearance mentioned in the ANN interest article from February. ANN posted an article today with new Babymetal info, which says that the appearance on Colbert is not likely to happen after all, so please ignore that part of my earlier post. Below is a link to the new article.
